Considering I’m not really a football kind of guy

I can’t help but get caught up in the whole England to win the world cup shenanigans. After a weak performance followed by a dismal performance by the England team leaving a MUST win situation on Wednesday. I figured why don’t they know what everyone seems to know back home? Has no-one spoken to the team about the importance of the World Cup to most (if not all) football fans?!

So…..

Here’s my call to arms for the lads in South Africa

This is no longer about how your own country men and dearest fans booed your last performance.
This is no longer about who made what mistake and who worked hardest during your last game.
This is not a tournament.
That is gone.

This is the world cup. This is the biggest competition in the world.
This is the most important game of of football you’ll ever be involved in.
This is your world cup final. Win and you need not dream. Never have to ask what if.
This is history unwritten. There is no destiny. There is no fate sealed.

You 11 people. Good apart. Untouchable together. Playing 11 others. Nothing individually and weaker than you combined. Scared to go toe to toe. Scared to take you on alone. Scared of the damage you can do.

Don’t try to do what you think is right.
Don’t try to nail what you’ve practiced…. Endlessly.
Don’t try. Just do.
It’s just a ball. You are it’s master.
It’s just another man. Respect him and make him fear you.

And above all…… Win

Now get out there and fucking show the world what you can do!!
