So spring is well and truly here. The sun is out today and everyone is out in force with their summer gear on. It’s Spring. Not Summer. OK so there is a little bit of sun but in this country we should all remember that we don’t actually mind the autumn and winter…… You know, half of each year and to be fair, these days it feels like Winter in the Summer. So it becomes a culture of ‘Suns out, let’s make the most of it before goes away for another year.’
It’s a shame that this is what we’ve come to and I have to admit I’m guilty of the same but I am also a defender of the colder seasons.
I like it when we go out in the snow building snowmen but I don’t like driving in it (because of every other numpty on the road). I like kicking leaves up with my daughter whilst on an Autumn walk but I don’t like the fact that rain water seeps in under the front door when it’s coming down hardcore. I like it when the sun comes out and we can run round at the park but because I’m not a sunbath all day kind of guy my pale skin attitude turns sour when I start to burn up after a few hours of out door fun.
There are pros and cons for all our seasons and although this most probably isn’t the case it seems like we’re all just waiting around for a bit of sunshine.
That said I did notice my mood was a bit more sprightly today and I felt like I was a younger man. The kid that loved training and keeping fit. I was all set to re-join a gym and go back to Muay Thai this afternoon and this was a direct result of the sunny weather. I won’t be doing any of these things however. Is like the body wants to build up fitness and keep high levels of tolerence to illness so come Winter the body is ready for all the colds and flu bad weather can throw at it.
The body wants what the body wants.
