Jackie Chan? That’s right Jackie Chan!
So, with the new Karate Kid movie on the horizon staring the mighty Jackie Chan (JC from this point on) I thought why not pay tribute to the man with my fave bits from his best movies, but first.
Lets vent some steam……..
Who out there is a JC fan? You? Think Rush Hour is a great JC film? Top drawer action with trade mark JC stunt work? Or even Shanghai Knights and what about The Tuxedo? Yes JC’s is really making some good films these days…..Isn’t he?!
This is the opinion of someone I know so I wanted to help them understand what JC is really about. What kind of film made him and how he did it back in his day. His way. Not the Hollywood (you think its his way but lets face it….Its not) way.
Because this person told me what I already knew. Reeling off facts about JC like an expert but yet, has never even seen Police Story?! So I lent this person said film (my favourate JC film) and he brought it back. Only watched half of it moaning it looked old and was in Chinese?!!
Well it was made in 1985 and guess what? JC is Chinese and in 1985 he was living and making movies in China! I fucking despair.
‘But its classic JC’ I say. ‘Nah, not for me. I like his American movies. They are better’
