Its that time of year again when all the kids come knocking and I sit ignoring the door like a scrooge at Christmas. Not this year though! This year my daughter has been getting involved in all the years calender events and Halloween is no exception so this morning we made our pumpkin scary face. But because she’s only 2 and probably would actually be scared I opted for a semi scary face……..
First we carved out the pumpkin and in one bowl all the seeds and junk went. In another bowl all the goodness that would ultimately become spicy pumpkin soup. (Which last year my Queen made and was delicious!!!) Once carved we…..I say we, I mean I…..designed the face on some scrap paper and then drew the face on the pumpkin with pencil. Then more knives to score the skin. Then slowly cutting out chunks to made the face bit by bit. Needless to say my Daughter didn’t help with this bit otherwise I’m sure 5 fingers would have become 4 or less.
It’ll be on show tonight in our living room window scaring everyone away. But failing that I’ve stockpile of sweets which I’ve been given strict instructions not to eat……Whatever. The kids better be quick that’s all I’m saying!
Here’s our pumpkin face adventure in pictures. Enjoy and remember. Don’t say trick! Kids these day’s will take the foundation bricks from your house if they could. No respect for there elders, I tell thee!!
