This is Wayne's World

My new friend Billy

I recently had a health scare.
I was out of breath after about 10 seconds of running. Serious business because I used to be fit. I used to do an intense Muay Thai workout 3 times a week and I was sharp, fit and alot younger then I am now. Shit its been about 10 years and although I went to the gym for about 2 years inbetween this period I thought I was still sharp, fit and (sigh) young. I forgot about the not doing any exercise, richer diet and alcohol I consumed in recent years.

My scare happened when I was on holiday and left where I was staying to go out and unbeknownst to me left without my wallet. After realising this and in a dash to race back, get my wallet and catch back up I nearly collapsed. At this moment the sky parted a big finger came down pointing at me. Then came the voice…..”have a fucking word with yourself, Wayne”. So I did and I’m getting fit and staying fit.

How am I going to do this because (and its not an excuse) I struggle for time to go to the gym or go jogging. I’m in most evenings taking care of my daughter and out earning a crust everyday. Now to palm my daughter off on someone while I swan off and pump iron is unfair on everyone because its the only proper time I have with her. So I need a better plan.Enter Billy Blanks.

Maltesers Anyone?

Billy Blanks….AKA The guy from B-Martial Arts Movie. King of the Kickboxers (A classic). Is the Tae-Bo guy. I’m at it now in my lounge with just my boxers on most nights of the week. Playing Tae-Bo with my mate Billy and boy, its tough. But what they say is true. You only get out what you put in and I’m putting in. This shit is serious! I admit though I felt like a fool at first prancing around in my living room but no guts no glory I said and besides……Its only me in the room!

So a message to all those who say they haven’t got the time or don’t like gyms or are just lazy fuckers. Find yourself a Tae-Bo DVD and go with it. I feel alot better for it but I’m not out of the water yet.
Much work still to be done Daniel San.
