Not my mouth!
The tonsils are areas of lymphoid tissue on either side of the throat. An infection of the tonsils is called tonsillitis. Most commonly, the term “tonsils” refers to the palatine tonsils that can be seen in the back of the throat.
Well that’s all good and well Mr Wiki, but why?
Why have them?
Mine were taken out when I was but a wee nipper and I know many others who are also without tonsils. So obviously (he says) I don’t need them. In fact I noticed zero difference in my life when they were removed. Not like an arm, say. I would have to change many things and re-adjust to living without an arm. But tonsils. Bollocks. God. You fucked up. You put them in and forgot to give us a valid reason. In fact, why not remove all kids tonsils at birth to prevent everyone getting tonsillitis? That’s it. Pop! Out he comes. 5 fingers, 5 toes a quick wipe and chop. Off with your tonsils. There you go Mum and Dad.
“Ah Bless, he’s got your eyes.”
